The three steps to your food blog:
- Domain Name & Hosting
- lnstall WordPress
- Create your food blog & give it a personality
1. Domain & Hosting
In this part, it is important that you make your top priority what your domain name will say about your blog. Think about a name that’s easy to remember. It shouldn’t be too long. If you’ve found an appropriate one, go to Bluehost and enter it into the box to see if your desired name is still available.
Now you will be asked for your plan preference. For starters, we recommend the Basic
Package. Pay for it once a year, and save yourself some money that way.
You also have to host your domain name. Hosting means that you are “renting” your place on the web, where your blog is displayed. If you decide on using Bluehost for yourself, you will get your domain name free. With other providers, it costs around 15-20 euros per year. We are satisfied with the service and have not regretted the decision. Since Bluehost is an American company, you should understand English. Below is a screen shot with the settings with the information on the package we use.
The option, “Domain Privacy Protection,” offers you additional privacy protection.
2. Install WordPress
Once you’ve completed registration with Bluehost, continue to the WordPress Installation. WordPress is a blogging software that we use for our blog. It is super easy to use and easy to install on the website.
Login at Bluehost, and go to the section, “website” or “website builders .”
On the next page click the “install” button in the “Do it yourself FREE” section.
Now click the “Check Domain” button.
Now check the “Terms and Conditions” box and then click the “Install Now” button.
If you get the message that tells you that your installation is complete, click on the other, “View Credentials” button. Enter your admin URL, username and password. You can change this later again if you need to, but just do it to start with for the first registration.
Type your admin URL into your web browser. Now you’ll see a login window as shown in the lower image. Now enter your username and password that you copied from the last step.
Congratulations! You are now officially logged into your blog.
3.Create your food blog & give it a personality
